Thank you so much! I am doing this for my grandfather and these were his grandparents. Your information was so helpful! Thanks again!
there are two John Wesley Parker, his mom is sarah compton and his dad's name is John Wesley Parker Sr. John Wesley Parker Sr was born in 1830 and passed away in 1870.John Wesley Parker was born in 1863. Have lots more info get back to me when possible.
My name is Georgia Ann Kelley My Grandmother was Elizbeth Ann Parker called Bettie marrried to Andrew jackson Young. Elizbeth was born in 1858, had a duaghter named Katie Ann Young born in 1894 and died in 1999 who was my mother, Bettie Parker's parents were Henry Parker born in 1827 who was a brother to John Wesley parker, and her mom was supposed to be Nancy Black but I am not for sure, because my mother said her Grandfather was Quahana Parker and had seen him serval times when he came to see her family.
I think my John Wesley is a different one. My great-grandmother was Jewell Parker and was the second oldest of John Wesley's children out of 7(?) and was born around 1901. I am still looking. I am hoping to find one of my grandpa's male Parker cousins to do DNA testing on.

Andrea, I believe we are cousins.  My grandfather was John Jesse Parker, the baby brother of Jewell.  My understanding is that he was the youngest in his family and had 5 older sisters.  Apparently, twin sons had also been born, but were stillborn or died shortly after birth.  I remember three of the sisters' names - Jewell, Eunice, and Ida.  I particularly remember Aunt Eunice because she lived near us when I was growing up.

Here is some background:  John Jesse married Alice Adele Price.  Their children were Carmen Parker Cook and Johnnie Wesley Parker, who was my father.  My father had five sons and one daughter - Johnnie Wesley Parker, Jr., James Edward Parker, me, Jeffrey Allen Parker, Joseph Dale Parker, and Jessie Adele Parker Watson.

Yay! We are cousins! Jewell is my great grandmother! The other two sisters were Lottie and Mayo. I have a picture that you might be interested in getting a copy of. It is of John Wesley and Alice and all six of their kids. Your grandfather looks about 7 or 8. It even has Frank the dog in the picture! :) Have you had the genetic testing done? I am so so so excited you responded on here!
Yes, I would love to have a copy of the picture. I have not had the DNA testing done but would like to do so.
I will go tomorrow if I have time and make a copy and mail it to you if you want to private message me your address. Please let me know if you do the DNA testing. I am so excited! I talked to my grandpa this afternoon and he said that he didn't realize your grandfather's name was John Jesse. He said that they called him Uncle Buddy. Anyway, I had to do some figuring, but we are 4th cousins!
Ok so I looked at the picture wrong. Mayo was Lottie's married name. I thought that sounded odd. The other daughter's name was Della. The picture was taken in 1913, so starting to fade.

Im not sure how I am related to him but I am. My cousin does Genealogy and she could tell you what ever you need to know about John Wesley Parker (I think he is my great uncle) and Alice Brownlee; Her name is Jevette Burciaga and her phone number is 903-917-3846. Are you also related to these people? We could be related somehow if you are. Keep in touch. Good luck.

They were my great great grandparents. I will try to get in touch with her soon and see what I can find out.
