All the Parkers in the Shiloh Baptist Cemetery are related. My line of Parkers goes back to Major Richard Parker who was married to Ann Hogan. The Littles, Hogans, Flanagans, Threadgills, Griffins, Scoggins, Gordys, Ashes and so on are are tied to the Parkers in Shiloh Cemetery.

Lincoln: I had the pleasure of visiting that beautiful area some years ago, and visited the Shiloh Cemetery. I recall there were other Parkers buried in that cemetery. Are those your Parkers and do you know if they are related to W.A. Parker?
Thank you so much for responding! Karen

Karen,

All my Parker ancestors on my Mothers side are burried at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery in Mount Enterprise, Texas. I looked on your site and William Allen Parker was born September 23, 1848 in Yantley, Choctaw County, Alabama and died Jan. 23, 1914 in Mount Enterprise, Rusk County, Texas, Sue M. Williamson his wife was born 1848 and died 1923 in Rusk County, Texas. They are both burried in Shiloh Baptist Cemetery. William in plot 4F-46 and Sue in 4F-45. Also Goodwyn Mize Parker was born 1869 and died in 1932 in Rusk County, Texas. She is burried in Shiloh Cemetery in plot 4F-47.

My east Texas Parker connection is Rev. William Allen Parker, who became preacher of Mt Enterprise Baptist Church in Rusk County, Texas. His father was a well-known, well-regarded Baptist minister at various churches in Alabama, W. Jacob Parker. Almost all of W.A.'s sons became Baptist ministers, and a number of his grandsons did as well. One of his most "famous" grandsons was Monroe "Monk" Parker who wrote an influential evangelical autobiographical book called "Through Sunshine and Shadows." I'd love to hear from other descendants from this amazing family line. Also, see more about this line at www.familyimmortal.com.

I am descended from Ralph Parker through his son D.H. His Great grand daughter Ora Velle is my great grand mother. Her daughter married Marion Hortman who is the GG grandson of Henry Parker of north Carolina, possibly Edgecombe county. The Parkers and Hortmans have lived near each other since the 1880's in Texas.

I dont have alot of information about my family, as i was raised in a Childrens Home in Georgia. I was born Gayla Carol Parker to Charles Rayburn Parker and Carol Sue Rushing in 1967. My mother was from Houston Texas and my father was from Trinity Texas. My grandfather was Jeffrey Parker and my grandmother was Sula Parker. I do not know her maiden name. is there any one that can help me. I hear my father talk about an old indian named Parker and I wonder if I am in that group. I also wonder where my ancestors are from. Please help me if you know anything at all

My Grandmother was born 12-14-1892 Maggie Lena V Parker. She is buried at the Colony Church of Christ Cemetary in Rains County. I think her mother was Lucinda J Parker, b 10-16-1872 and I think she was married to John H. Parker. "http://www.interment.net/data/us/tx/rains/colony_church.htm" target="_blank">

I stress doing the DNA test to compare and see what family group you may end up in. It seems not that many people are doing it these days. It's a great way to spend that income tax return!
