I stress doing the DNA test to compare and see what family group you may end up in. It seems not that many people are doing it these days. It's a great way to spend that income tax return!

Please read and reply if you have anything that may help with this and/or know of this situation from the other side. And please no rudeness intended, but do not ask me to ask my father for more information. It will not work. I am on my own here. My father was adopted. His last name was believed to be Parker. He has 5 maybe 6 brother of which two were twins, and 1sister he was adopted with. He has recently opened his adoption records and found this information. his mom is believed to llive just south of Dallas and is dad is in Dallas. He will not give me any more information but this, for his own personal reasons. Also all that I know is that he may be related to Quanaha Parker and posssibly Bonnie Parker. This may be myth, but I wish to find out more. It is very upsetting to not know your family but being the daughter of a person who does not know there family makes my family tree only one sided like a tree with only one branch. The information I know is that above and my father lived most of his life in Bryan or Brazos county area and he was adopted with just his sister.

I am descended form Elder John Parker's line through his daughter Phoebe who married Z. Hassell. I am wondering if others from Elder John Parker's line have traced his line back past his parents Nathaniel and Ann. Also, any good publications recommended? I just ordered Frontier BLood and PioneerFamilies of Anderson County

I just joined your group. My Parkers oka is Charles Parker - dob abt 1815 - SC or TN??, then to Alabama and own to East Texas. My family setted mostly in Houston County, TX. I am related - dna - to group #16 - however my brick wall is with parents of Charles. We know somewhere up the line he's a match with those who have okas of Eldredge Jackson Parker dob 1677 Devenshire, England. Currently there are about 9 Parker Cousins doing Charles Parker research.

PARKER FAMILY HISTORY (CROSSROADS TO PROGRESS "GRAPELAND" THE QUEEN CITY OF THE SAND FLATS 1872-1972 BY MARY KYLE TUCKER).

THE FAMILY OF RALPH DELANEY PARKER SR. CAME TO THE OAK GROVE COMMUNITY, THEN KNOWN AS WOODLAND HALL, FROM LUMBERTON, NORTH CAROLINA, IN ABOUT THE YEAR 1858. CHILDREN OF RALPH PARKER WERE FRANK HAYWOOD PARKER, JOHN NELSON PARKER, RALPH DELANEY JR. PARKER, SIMEON THEODORE PARKER, AND WILLIAM PARKER. HE ALSO HAD TWO DAUGHTERS NAMED ANN(BAXLEY)PARKER, AND EMMA (CHASTEN)PARKER. ANN'S HUSBAND WAS KILLED IN THE CIVIL WAR.
WILLIAM WAS KILLED WHEN A TREE FELL ON HIM WHILE HE WAS SPLITTING RAILS ON THE PARKER ESTATE IN THE OAK GROVE COMMUNITY. HE WAS AMONG THE FIRST TO BE BURIED IN THE PARKER CEMETERY, A FIVE ACRE TRACT OF LAND DONATED FOR A CEMETERY BY RALPH DELANEY SR. PARKER.
FRANK PARKER, HAD COME TO TEXAS TWO YEARS BEFORE THE FAMILY MOVED FROM NORTH CAROLINA TO THE OAK GROVE COMMUNITY. HIS FAMILY TRAVELLED TO THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER IN 2 COVERED WAGONS. WHEN THEY HAD COME TO VICKSBURG, THEIR TEAMS WERE WORN OUT AND THEY TRADED THEIR WAGONS AND TEAMS FOR TWO SLAVES, A MAN AND A WOMAN AND SOME MONEY. THEN THEY TOOK A BOAT TO GALVESTON AND CAME UP THE TRINITY RIVER TO WHITE ROCK SHOALS WHERE FRANK PARKER MET THEM AND BROUGHT THEM TO WHAT IS NOW THE OAK GROVE COMMUNITY .
