Most of the samples for the Parker family were done with Familytree DNA http://www.familytreedna.com/ its really easy to do and could save you years of researching the wrong family

I was just looking at family 28. I've researched both Parker's and Graham's but can't get past them from Wayne/Clarke Co Mississippi. You've told me more than anyone but I can't link it all together. I have only one clue to any of Anderson's siblings and that's a Benjamin and it's a sketchy clue. My brother is interested in a DNA test but I have no idea how to purchases one. We would like to do DNA but need help on how it can be done. There has to a connection to them all in the 1840 census for that county.

Hi Kelly,
We've correspond before on the Parker-Graham families in Wayne Co Miss then my branch on to Leon Co Texas. I totally agree with you this family is so hard to trace. Seems as though my Anderson came to Texas with the Graham family and none of his reletives came with him so it a hard one to follow, not like on my mother's side where the whole dang family packed up and moved together!! so it's easier to follow her side.
I'm just totally bushed with the Parker side and have come to the conclusion Anderson Peter/Perry is as far as I'll get.

My line come from Aaron Parker (~1770-1833) and Tabitha Raborn (1772-1856). Aaron and Tabitha (Raborn) Parker are found 1816 Amite County state census. By 1820 the were in Covington County, by 1830 they were in Copiah. By 1870 their children had been in Rankin, Washington, Neshoba, Newton, Jasper, Smith, Simpson counties in MS. By 1880 many of them left MS to go to TX and AK.
The Parker family is one of the most confussed families I have ever research. In most family it is fairly safe to assume that those with the same surname living in the same area probably related. And with just a little research that can be proved. Not so with the Parkers, DNA currently show at least 3 different groups of Parkers that pass through Amite County between 1815 and 1825. (Family 1,5 and 7) To add to this you have the Wayne County Parkers (Family28) that were also in Mississippi just as early as family 5 and 7. The Wayne County Parker lived in the same county as the Graham that married into Parker family 5 in 1820. In 1819 in the newly formed Covington County you have the Graham family and Parker family 5 and 7 all listed in tax list. Many of the counties were the Parker lived have lost their early records. So much for paper trails! DNA is an important tool for researching Mississippi Parker families! Add to that early Parker on Mississippi Coast who used the same names and those that came to Natchez and you have a really confussing mess. Not to mention all the other early Mississippi Parker found in records, that are still unknown.

I'm relatively new at genealogy, but it appears as this to me:
My maiden name: Linda Louise Parker
Father: Clyde George Parker
Grandfather: Fred D. Parker
Great-Grandfather: George Riley Parker
Great-Great Grandfather: Benjamin F. Parker
Great-Great-Great Grandfather: Julian Franklin Parker
Great-Great-Great-Great Grandfather: William F. Parker

If I'm incorrect on this, please let me know. It's been only in the past month or so I found out who my Great Grandfather supposedly is. However, I was told there was Indian blood in the family and thus far haven't seen or heard anything reference that. My father and all his family are now dead, with the exception of one sister who I understand paid a genealogist to trace our family history and has chosen to keep it private. Don't know why... Thanks, however, for filling me in on anything you can provide!

Also a member of #5 by way of Elder John, Elder Daniel, Benjamin, Daniel, Miles Abram, Clayton Miles to me James. P41 is my nephew. Nathaniel was accepted as Elder John's father but DNA testing has proven this to be incorrect. There is several unknown generations between Robert of Barnstable and Elder John but the connection is confirmed by the testing. Jim Y. is also a direct descendant via Elder Daniel's brother Isaac. He is quite informed on #5 as well as the whole research process.
