Comment by Ron Dotson on January 14, 2013 at 8:17pm I sent the following message to Steven Parker but I thought I'd post for all to see in hopes that it might spark a memory or bring out a tid bit someone has stored in their research:
My 2nd great grandmother is Lucinda Elizabeth Parker Voss (Zillman). She is the daughter of William (S or T) Parker. Her mother is Matilda but I do not know her maiden name. Lucinda was born in Madison County but moved to Bolivar to open a grocery business with her husband, Zillman, to open a grocery. From records I've found, she and her sister (and possibly other relatives) attended the Clover Creek Baptist Church. I know they also lived in Medon in 1860. But in 1870 (census) she is living in Bolivar with her husband, Zillman, sons Joseph Edwin and William Dossie Voss and a Wm. H Parker who is a clerk in their store. I have yet to figure out his relation to her as it might be a transcription error.
Living next door (or close) is her brother Henry Milton Parker with his wife, Lucretia and their children, Willie Lee (female), Annie and step-son Cicero Beaty. Next to them is Henry and Lucinda's mother, Matilda, and their other siblings Phoebe and Fanny Parker.
In 1880, Lucinda, Zillman and sons have moved back to Jackson. I cannot find her mother in the 1880 census so she either died in Hardeman or Madison county. I have searched for a death record but to no avail. Her brother Henry Milton moved on to Fayette County TN.
I can find no record of her sisters after 1870 either. If I go back to the 1850 census, Lucinda is living with her family - father William, mother Matilda, and siblings Henry, Phoebe, Susan, Caroline and their grandmother, Polly Parker. I know Medon is in Madison County but very close to the Hardeman county line.
The father, William, was born abt 1801 in SC. I believe his father to be John Parker b. 1775 in NC and his mother to be Mary "Polly" Howard Parker b. 1775 in NC, also.
If any of this rings a bell or you have encountered these people in your research, please let me know.
Thanks so much!!
Comment by Kelly Parks on December 1, 2012 at 12:54pm To. Marcella, Just a note there is a connection between my PArker/Raborn family and the Tidewell/Terrell family in Franklin County GA pre 1805.
To Jordon, check out Elder John group here, there is y-DNA testing that suggestion Elder John Parker could not be the son of Nathaniel Parker of Sumter TN
I have been able to ID my Aaron Parker in Franklin County GA by 1805. Also there during this time was Robert Parker, Moses Parker and John Parker. (John Parker is thought to be Elder John Parker born ~1758 in Baltimore MD). Is the Franklin County GA Robert Parker the same one that shows up in Louisiana?
My Aaron Parker (died 1833 in Mississippi), he married Tabitha Raborn (1772GA-1856MS). They were in Mississippi by 1814. My Aaron Parker has y-DNA and is the same family as Elder John Parker.

Comment by Karla Renee (Marsh) Osborne on October 7, 2012 at 3:23pm I've added my name to the Cherokee Parkers in hopes that my story might come across someone's desk in that group that fits in with the rest of my information. If you find anything inregard to Charles Marsh and his wife Catharine (might be Cherokee), please feel free to send it my way.... much appreciated!
Marcella, I am looking for a list of Daniel Parker's children. If Im correct in my tree... Elder John Parkers father is Nathaniel Parker.b.1730 d.1803, who was born in Hampshire Va. Nathaniel was married to Mary Ramsey Blesko in 1791 in Sumner Tennessee. I believe my line also leads to Daniel who is Elder Johns brother. Sons of Nathaniel. I know for sure my line is Donald(f) Earnest(gf), Freddie Lee (ggf), Augustus(gggf), Joseph A. (ggggf), Then Im confused... I think Josephs father is Moses son of Daniel.... but I still have to have hard proof before I will say for sure. But any help is very welcomed... Thanks!!

Comment by Heather Christa Justice on September 14, 2011 at 6:00pm I am seeking information on Jesse or Jessee Parker, b. 1815 TN, married Elizabeth Gregory( b. 1827 d. 1870) in 1841 Hardeman, TN. They had 6 children: Martha J b.1844, John b. 1849, Thomas b. 1852, Sarah b. 1861, William Riley (my great grandfather) b. 1862 d. 1924 and Fannie b. 1865. I am especially interested in where Jesse was born and who his parents were. William Riley last lived on Island 8, Hickman County, KY which is were my mother lived until approximately 3 o4 years old. I am especially interest in information on who Jesse Parker's parents were. Records indicate that Jesse"s parents were both born in Tennessee.
In 1850 Jesse and Elizabeth lived in Hardeman, TN where he was a Miller. In 1860 he was in Hardin County and 1870 in Chester County.
