No, I only know what I find out on rootsweb through other people. I have never heard of any registration papers. Thanks for the info on Oklahoma. I'll look into that.
Deniece, I thought I had sent you a message but can't find it here. My gggrandmother Winnifred (Winnie) was your Henry Jr's older sister. Do you have some stories to share?
Winnie was always known to be in Pope co. Arkansas up until about 1887 when…
No, none of them are from my family. My ggr grandfather, Henry Parker was born about 1827 in South Carolina. His wife was Nancy Black. He lived in Texas most of his life.
My 4th Great Grandfather was a Henry Parker of Dearborn Co. IN. His daughter Catherine was married Nov 29, 1838 in Dearborn Co. to George Noble. The family moved abt 1850 Oquawka, Henrderson Co. IL. I have no further information. Henry may have marr…
Go to "Add Post-em" and add your information. The person(s) that entered the information will correct it. I had to do the same thing with my father's name. It was listed as "Joe Ray Jackson" in all of the postings. But, his name was "Joe Roy Jackson…
Hello cousin,
I started out by searching for my grandmother, Margaret Elizabeth Young, on rootsweb.com. Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Parker's date of birth is Dec 1858 in Milam county, TX and year of death is 1914 in Milam county. You can just go from ther…
Hi Wendy,
It sounds like you are speaking of my great grandmother Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Parker. I had an great aunt named Katherine "Katie" Young. My grandmother was Margaret Elizabeth Young (Betty's daughter). Who are your parents?
I am the great granddaughter of Elizabeth Ann "Bettie" Parker. Just curious about family roots.
Hello Parker families, I am interested in finding close relatives. My grandmother was Margaret Elizabeth Young (daughter of Bettie Parker and Andrew Jackson Young), my father was Joe Roy Jackson. After some research I see that I am from the Parker family group #1.
Deneice, DNA can prove or disprove Native American heritage.
Haplogroup Q: The Q lineage is the lineage that links Asia and the Americas. This lineage is found in North and Central Asian populations as well as Native Americans. This lineage is believed to have originated in Central Asia and migrated through the Altai / Baikal region of northern Eurasia into the Americas.
Most Parker's have Haplogroups from the basic English/Nort Western Europe of R1b.
Sorry for the late reply, but I have been offline for awhile. I now have a new computer and e-mail address. Good to hear from you and I am still living here in DeSoto, TX. It will be a difficult task to trace the Parker line beyond Henry Parker . 1780 who died in Pope Co., AR, but with all the information comming in from the DNA project, I think it will be possible. Great pictures, by the way. I'm going to have to add some to my page. Take care, Cousin Bobby
Hello Cousin!
I've just joined and am 'P20' on the Parker DNA Project (group #1).
My GGgrandfather, George W. Parker, was a brother of Betty Ann (you're ancestor). The DNA project appears to show that the "Elder John" Parker line is not our own. Cynthia Ann Parker, Mother of Quanah, was of this line. Henry Parker (Sr), our ancestor, was said to be part Cherokee (this is documented). I was also told we are related to Quanah, but DNA shows that if we are, our link is not with the Parkers as we are from different genetic Parker lines
Hi again Deneice. I am just starting this too. This is my dad's side of the family and he was not real close with any of them, so all of the info I have I have just found online. He only met his grandfather, Jade Wesley Parker one time that he can remember. Jade's father was John Wesley Parker, who was the son of Henry Parker and Nancy Black. My grandfather's name was Hubert Parker.
Thank you, Nancy. I will be in touch. I have not been on World Connect, but I will now. Again, thank you. William Alexander Parker, Wade Franklin Parker, John Wesley Parker all died in Oklahoma according to John Curd's information. Oh, is World Connect also a part of the Rootsweb.com site?
Deneice, have you been on World Connect? Several of Winnifred (Winnie) E. Parker Woolcutt Vail James's descendants have submitted family history there. Winnie left Arkansas about 1887 to "make the land run" in Oklahoma but didn't get in the run for some reason. She is buried in New Hope Cemetery at Spiro, Ok. with a lot of her descendants from her son, Thomas Jefferson Willkett. (name changed when Tom went to Oklahoma) Have you heard of any of Henry Jr's children being in Oklahoma after 1860?
Hi Deneice. So glad you found us! Who were Bettie's parents? How much family information do you have so I won't send you something you already have. Do you have pictures of your oldest folks?
