Ronald Parker commented on Phylena Parker's blog post RE: Phillip/Hezekiah ParkerMy 2nd Great Grandfather William D Parker. This was in "Friends of the Labourer" from Hillsboro Ala, July 11th 1878. He indeed was gored by a bull. He was castrating the bull for plowing.
We have just learned the death of our old friend, William
PARKER who was killed by the gore of an ox, one day last week
near Moulton.
This was from the Moulton Advertiser newspaper. Shows Polly's folks names.
Departed this life, April 23rd, 1878, Mr. J.T. PARKER aged 71
years 3 months and 8 days. In the year 1838 he was married to
Polly C. NEELEY daughter of John W. and Sallie NEELEY, then
residing in Limestone county, Alabama, with whom he lived
near 50 years and raised a family of 12 children.
