Hope you all enjoy a few stories from my past. They were written several years ago.Wayne  Today as I write down some of the stories of my family and friends, I am carried back in time to relive and enjoy the wonderful life that has come my way. It is with great joy that I share some of them with you.  As each story will stand by it’s self, I hope the readers will enjoy each and every one.   I am the oldest of three boys born to James Calvin and Willie Pearl Murphy Parker. Dad was JC and mom was Pearl. I am Wayne Nelson and my brothers were Clyde Allen and James Richard.     Mother was born on April 25 1922 and died on September 16 1954. Daddy was born on September 26 1908 and died on March 22 1967. Clyde was born on March 5 1948 and died on March 7 1991. James was born on February 1 1952 and today lives next door to me and I was born on March 7 1945. I was born in Winona, Mississippi then we moved to Arkansas where Clyde and James were born. Up-date on my research on Parker FG#7

As of today I have passed the 1200 page mark on my research of Parker y-DNA FG#7. This is not counting the pages on my other family lines.  I am still amazed at what I have found out about our remarkable Parker family. I remember reading (way back in 1991) that not much was known about the Nansemond Co., VA Parker family. Well today we know a lot more as our family has the largest number of y-DNA members at 38 as we just got a new member.  I could not had did this without the help and support of many of our FG#7 members. A big THANK YOU to all cousins and cousins-in-law and Parker researchers who have helped me. The 1200 pages represent just what I have entered into computer as I have much more in paper files and other computer files that will be enter into my Family Tree File as I soon as I (quit finding new stuff) because I love to research most of all. I am very proud of my research, especially the last two years as I have tried to connect all our y-DNA FG#7 members back to our…See More

Thanks for adding me to the group, Wayne.  I began another message to you and lost it...so if you have a partial floating around.

I have stood at J W F "Will" Parker's grave in Davis many a time!  He and my GGF Thomas were brothers.  I am delighted to connect with you!  Just recently retired and am organizing work that have collected for years.  I do have a photo and story of Will that was in the original county history book of Murray Co that is out of print in case you don't have it...also a couple that Clyde's wife wrote.  Is it appropriate to post such on this site?

My daughter and I are making a trip to Palestine, Anderson Co., TX the end of April to do some searching.  We will be looking for marriage certificates, possible burial records, visiting John W Carpenter's memorial, looking for remnants or location where they had the ferry that crossed the Trinity, Tennessee Colony marker and whatever else.  Do you have anything we can look for?

I noticed Harris is one of our family names.  Am not locating your family tree at present, but by chance do you have a William "Battle"Harris (1858-1931) s/o Israel Harris (1813-1886)?  Battle married Thomas Parker's widow in Davis...and since these folks are always staying together....

Battle Harris was my GM's step father.  Many of the family lines in Davis/Dexter married one another.  One of the Harris/Barnes members is managing a family get together in Davis in first weekend in October.  Harris first married a Ferguson, so many lines are involved...also Gibson.  There will  be some in attendance who do genealogy and most do not.  If it interests you, let me know.

Many thanks!  Jeanene Stermer

I am guessing your talking about the Roots site.  I should have referred someone there today.  I am busy on another project...sorry.  Did the pages from the book on  NC wills help you?  I need to find that again and post that I have it....may help someone.

Thanks, Wayne

I'm amazed at the incredible amount of research you've done and the amount of information on this site. I'm excited to get to look through these pages. My husband vividly remembers Parlee Tennessee (Brown) Bone, his great grandmother. So learning more about her family history is exciting. Thank you again!

If you look at his music "Bright Shining Morning" "Calling You" "Make Me Over" and "I Am Not Ashamed" are some of the music of his that I like.  I right clicked and saved it to my pc lol  I had one of his original albums but let someone borrow it and never got it back.

Wayne, I have a copy of the lengthy will of Lewis Parker, Sr. dated "Thursday, 11th December 1826".  Hancock County, GA.  If anyone would care for a copy and they cannot obtain it via records in Hancock, will make copy and mail to them.

Thank you Wayne.  The family listed is indeed mine.  My grandmother, Annie Eliza Parker was gr.daughter of James Anthony and Martha Culiffer, and daughter of William Henry and Candace Anne (Williford).  I knew all of Annie's sisters and brothers and have some pics of all plus Asa Hatley, James Anthony and William Henry as well as Annie and my mother, Atys Captola.
