Elizabeth Graydon Peery said… Jevette,
Our male Graydon's carry the Parker Y DNA & not Graydon. My oldest male line was Matthew Graden, born 1775-1780, most likely in Laurens Co., SC. It's possible he could have been born in NC. I believe he was the one fathered by a Parker and raised as a Graydon. But I don't know why or have any idea who his father was. I"ll try to write more when I have time later tonight. Thanks for contacting me...this has been a huge mystery for the past 2 years since the DNA testing.

Two of Tyre sisters married two Parker brothers in Granville Co.,NC Lucy married Samuel Parker, they stayed in Granville Co., NC. Mary married Elijah Parker and they moved to Bedford Co., TN (My line) Tyre moved to Wilson Co., TN. his son John moved to Fayette Co., AL then to Choctaw CO., MS then to Cherokee Co., TX. Elijah Parker sons Samuel. Richard (my line) and James H. Parker and their sister Priscilla Parker Chappell also moved to Fayette Co. and Tuscalloosa Co., AL. Priscilla Chappell stayed in AL but her brother moved on to the old Choctaw Co., MS area and stayed there. There is a Jesse Parker who was in AL with them and he moved with them to Choctaw Co., MS then on to Cherokee Co., TX one of Jesse son William Wiley Parker stayed in Choctaw Co., MS John Harris family still live in and around Cherokee Co., TX. I am trying to connect David H. Harris (om my grandmother side of my family) to John Harris. David stayed in MS. he may (?) be a brother to John Harris.
Wayne N. Parker said… HI Jevette, Thanks for the file. You did a great job. For right now I will just add some info about your oldest Parker line to my file so I can start searching sooner. Based on my knowledge of our Parker family. Your line may have stopped off in Choctaw Co., Ms after they left AL and moved to Cherokee Co. TX. I have a John Harris (a first cousin to my Parkers in Choctaw Co.MS) moving to Cherokee Co. TX. before 1850 and a Jesse Parker( kin by oral history only at this point) moved there about the same time,Jesse son John moved there between 1850 and 1860. Also Jett Thomas and Lucy Parker Wortham (known kin) moved to the same area.
