Please Post Your Parker Migration Routes!

I am interested in having a way to compare our Parker migration routes. We might find our Parkers cross paths, making it more likely we could be related. You also need to consider the changing county borders, ect. This is how mine goes:

Amos Parker (Wife, Mary Farlee), is first found in Chowan Co., NC, to Perquimans Co., NC, to Northampton Co., NC. Died in there in 1800.
Saul, (Wife Charity Jenkins), his son found in Perquimans Co., NC to Northampton Co., NC. He died there in 1786.

David, (Wife, Elizabeth Andrews Hayes),son of Saul is first found in Northampton Co., NC, to Halifax Co., NC, to Anson Co., NC. He died there in 1814.

Rebecah Parker, (Husband, unknown Stewart?) daughter of David, b. Northampton Co., NC, to Anson Co., NC. She died possibly there, in 1833.

Lemuel Parker, ....my line (Wife, Elizabeth Carpenter), son of David, b. Northampton Co., NC, to Halifax Co., NC, to Anson Co., NC., to Henry and Butts Counties, GA, to Russell (Now Lee) Co., AL, to Dale Co., AL. He died there in 1856.

Samuel Parker, (Wife, Sally Beecherdate, Beecher Date, or Berchard), son of David, b. Northampton Co., NC, to Halifax Co., NC, to Anson Co., NC, to Claiborne Co., TN, to Hancock Co., TN, to Jackson Co., KY. He died there in 1878.

Israel Parker, (WIfe, Catherine Carpenter), son of David Parker, b. Northampton Co., NC, to Halifax Co., NC, to Anson Co., NC, to Henry and Butts Counties, GA, to Russell (Now Lee) Co., AL, to Dale Co., AL. He died there after 1860.

Temperance Parker, (Husband, William Hough Martin), daughter of David, b. Northampton Co., NC, to Halifax Co., NC, to Anson Co., NC. She died there in about 1824.

Penelope Parker, (Husbdand, John Martin), daughter of David, b. Northampton Co., NC, to Halifax Co., NC, to Anson Co., NC. She died there in 1858.

My Parker line came from Surry County, North Carolina then to Indiana somewhere around 1838 and then went to where I live in Doniphan County, Kansas around 1856. In Indiana it shows near Springville, which there are three towns named that in Indiana. One was in Clark County but it only existed until 1811 and the other two are located in La Porte and Lawrence Counties.

Well I hope getting on here might be productive for you, Susie. The more Parker folk we get on here, the better we'll all be. You never know when a break will come. Kathy Jo Bryant

Yes, Kathy Jo, there was undoubtedly a lot going on then, as now. I really respect peoples ability to thrive and survive with dignity and grace.
A huge issue that we seem to have is that my GGG Grandfather, Joshua Joseph Parker, our Parker family patriarch, seems to have sprung full-grown -32- from the earth in Mt. Salus, now Clinton, Mississippi in 1829. No one has knowledge or record of any relatives, parents, anything.

We are having difficulty finding kin for my huband's Bryant line. More Y-DNA tests are needed. There could be undocumented adoptions, or indiscretions involved. We might not know as much about our families as we thought. Y-DNA IS invaluable. Thanks for updating your Parker data, Susie. Kathy Jo

Ok; that sounds great.
I have 1 cousin that I know of doing the DNA project; his grandfather was my G grandmother's brother. He is P28.
That DNA project is invaluable. When we did not correlate with the line that we all had been told were our relatives and therefore ancestors, it really caused me to think about the how and why of relationships and family. I have a cousin who is writing a book about how myths work, pretty much as a result of our family lives, lol.

Thank you two,......David for his Parker roots, and Susie's positive feedback for a Parker Migration Blog. Maybe Darryl should help us out on this. I do think this could help us all to pinpoint places, at least, where our Parkers might connect. I would also like to have another blog to put each of us in a Parker Y-DNA group. If your Parker family has participated in the Parker surname Y-DNA study, it would help us to at least KNOW that we descend from the same Parker ancestor, back in time. If we are on here to help each other, I think these moves can give us shortcuts to finding Parker kin. Kathy Jo Bryant

This is a great idea! Do you think it would be better to post it here, on our own blogs, or to create a group so it would be more visible? This is smart, thank you for suggesting it.

My Parker roots began Enoch Parker, 1780, in Duplin County, NC. He had a son, Hezekiah Parker, 1810, also in Duplin County, NC. His son was Jacob William Parker who later moved to Harleyville, SC. He fought for the South (North Carolina) during the Civil War. He had a son, Benjamin Franklin Parker, 1861, in Duplin County, NC, later to Harleyville, SC. His son, John Earl Parker, Sr, 1905, of Harleyville, SC, was my Grandfather. His son, John Earl Parker, Jr. later moved to Northwest Ohio.
Does anyone have ties to this line?
