Preservation and Celebration of the Parker Family History & Genealogy
Comment
Hello, Tracy Hardi, and Welcome to Parker Heritage. I am unclear exactly what level of information you are seeking on your ancestors from Cherokee Co., NC, but there may be a great deal available. Was your ancestor William Solomon Parker b. 1770 who m. Martha Pleasant Anderson? One of their sons was Jonathan Parker m. Leona Blythe? a son was Willis Parker who m. Adelina Vannoy, maybe a second wife Martha Allen?
If these are your ancestors, a well-developed and documented family tree is found on Ancestry.com created by a "bitseybit" of Cummings, Georgia. There are also several other trees listed by other family members. Other online data places the earliest of those Parkers in Haywood along the Clinch River, supposdly on land granted there for Revolutionary service. It is unclear to me if that was William Solomon Parker's grant or one to his father.
Anyway, that is a start. It would be helpful to PH researchers if you could attach a wife's name to names you list of your ancestors. The given names are, no doubt, completely familiar to you, but since Williams, Jonathans and Willises, etc. are so numerous, it is easier if they are more clearly identified.
Hope this lead is helpful. Keep Parker Heritage posted on your progress.
