Dorsie, I just checked my Ancestry line.  I am not directly related to Buckner.  I am related to his brother, Hezekiah Parker, who I think died in his twenties.  He had a son,  Jacob William Parker, who lived with Buckner Parker.  

I do not have any information on Ruth Wood.

My mother was Marjorie Sahloff and my father was John Earl Parker, Jr of Oak Harborh, OH.  Son of John Earl Parker, Sr. of Harleyville, SC.   I will have to check on Ruth Wood. 

Great! you already match David Parker. If he has already done yDNA and you two prove a paper link, there is no need for you or a male relative to test. The Parker DNA project is yDNA only, therefore males only. You could sponsor a male within the same line, I did this in my GM Parker's Dennis line. There is a DNA test for women but my knowledge is limited. I tested with familytreeDNA.com. Mike
